Support for carers through the challenging years of childhood

who are we?

Hands2gether is a wellbeing organisation who provide support for parents and carers struggling with the challenges that adolescent years can bring.  They offer a safe and healthy environment to share experiences and ask questions, away from social media platforms which can attract negativity and harmful comments BUT foremost, we are a small team of parents with backgrounds that range from a variety of disciplines, with a breadth of experience learnt through not always getting it right!
Initially Hands2gether was formed with no obvious view of what path it would take, however over the months it became very clear that parents simply need help.  The objective was then to create an environment for healthy debate, whilst providing balanced guidance and support for children suffering from stress and anxiety, covering causes (bullying to exams), consequences (feelings and actions) and coping strategies (at school and home).
Months later and focus has become much more general, not just across the education spectrum but also the early years challenges that parents face, as Hands2gether  continue to listen, learn and respond to our readers thirst.

Our Aim

Modern life has given way to stress, without discrimination and no matter of background, however as we become adults we start to learn strategies of coping with routine pressures, it’s the unknown stresses that become sometimes a daily challenge, especially for children with an ever changing environment.  At Hands2gether  our aim is to listen and learn and in return if our response can change just one individual’s outlook, in a positive direction, it would have been worth every working midnight hour!
Learning how to cope with stress from a young age can be the difference between a contented or dejected individual, throughout this website you can learn how to help your child become more balanced, by using the correct tools for children to turn a nervous disposition into a more positive mind-set.  At Hands2gether our aim is to provide resources that will cover topics across the board, from social anxieties and sitting exams to coping with the pressures of a online world for encouraging a healthy mind, all relatable to children.
Developing social and communication skills is arguably one of the most important tools for a child’s development, with friendship groups playing a vital role in how children are shaped through their growing years.  At Hands2gether our aim is to have a strong focus on how to develop friendships, by pulling together ideas from around the world, along with the importance of being outside and how that can be achieved in today’s digital world.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT

To help carers across the world come together, by providing a safe and healthy environment to share experiences and in turn reinvent a generation of positive communicators.

The Book : Rainbow Robison

How can you help us?

In 2017 Elizabeth Andrew wrote her first children’s book, which was later titled RainboRobison.  Once complete and with several publishers interested, she made the decision to use the book to help launch and maintain Hands2gether, by offering a discounted purchase price of just £2! Elizabeth has also committed to continue her support by offering upcoming titles Moon in my Pocket and The Hitchhiking Bug-a-lug, all of which will be advertised through the newsletter and available to purchase on the Hands2gether website. By purchasing RainboRobison, along with subscribing to the newsletter, you will be entered into a draw to win £50-£500 Amazon vouchers, for both yourself and your school! Through sharing the website it is hoped to capture a wider audience, which will expose the site to more diverse topics for discussion.

The message from this book is on the colour of Rainbow’s skin and how being a different colour does not define who you are as a person. Particularly topical in the current climate, where racial abuse and online negativity are rife in the wake of social media.
